Jon Bowles, 95, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at the Bowles Homestead. He was born on December 16, 1924 in Brazil to the late George Franklin Pierce and Ivah Francis (Trout) Bowles. Jon graduated from Staunton High School in 1943, and married Mazie Rissler  in 1947. Jon worked at many things including farming, welding, trucking and excavating. He also worked for the Pipe Fitters Union Local 157.  

Jon was quite the story teller, and always had a way of complimenting everyone. He spent his free time shooting, reloading, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Jon enjoyed just about any form of shooting, but really loved shooting trap. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mazie; son, Jerry; and brother, George Bowles, Jr.

    Grandchildren:    Alyssa (Kyle) Butt, Arika (Nathaniel) Bowles-Miller, 

                Sarah (Eric) Lynch, Levi (Jennifer) McCashland, 

                Peggy (John Hale) Renwick,

                Oliver (Liz Cusma) Renwick, Monica Bowles,

                Natascha (Taylor) Hanson, Mitchell Bowles

    Great-Grandchildren:    Dillon and Owen Miller

    Several Nieces, Nephews and other extended family.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Otter Creek Christian Church or to the Parkinson's Foundation. 

Moore Funeral Home in Brazil was entrusted with his cremation arrangements. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
