Joseph Fay Thomas

Joseph F. Thomas, 94, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Exceptional Living Center in Brazil. He was born in Parke County on May 17, 1926 to the late Leroy and Bertha Thomas. Joe graduated from Van Buren High School in 1944, and served his country during World War II in the United States Navy. He later married the love of his life Mary Alice Lancaster, and worked at Arketex, Indiana State University, as well as Columbia Records. Joe loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting. He also enjoyed playing softball, playing golf, and bowling. He was preceded in death by his wife; brothers, Floyd and Charles Thomas; as well as his sister Ruby.

Joseph is survived by his brother, Cecil (Norma) Thomas; sister-in-law, Thelma Thomas, nephews, Robert (Diana) Lancaster, James (Mary) Lancaster, Kenny (Beverly) Thomas, Rick (Becky) Thomas, and Jack Hooker; as well as nieces, Paula Kunkel, Linda Thomas, Debbie Perkins, Jeanie Somers, Cheryl (Paul) Kidd, and Sue (Quein) Latham,.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 28, 2021 at at Clinton Falls Cemetery in Greencastle with Pastor Kenny Thomas officiating.
