Leona (Young) Morris Obituary

Leona Mae Morris, 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in McCordsville, Indiana. She was born on October 3, 1938 to the late William and Dorothy (Williamson) Young. Leona graduated from Van Buren High School in the class of 1956. She married Robert Lee Morris on October 8, 1968. Leona was a homemaker and bank teller. Later on, she became a custodian at Northview High School where she thoroughly enjoyed her night shifts with her husband. Leona was a devoted Christian and a member of Community Missionary Church. In her free time, Leona loved quilting, sewing, oil painting, and cooking. Her family describes her as being funny and good at everything she did. 

Leona is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Robert Morris; brothers, Vernon, Bob, Melvin, Harrold, Ralph, Howard and Elmer Young; sisters, Ellen (Young) Fisher, Mary Lou (Young) Horn, Wilma (Young) Bayer and Doretta (Young) Morris. Survivors include her son, Rob Morris of Indianapolis; brother, Fred (Cindy) Young of Brazil; as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family members. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil. The family will accept friends for visitation from 12:00 Noon until the time of service. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery in Brazil.
