Mark Anthony Ave, 75, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 after a short stay at The Waters of Greencastle. He was born on February 2, 1946 in Clinton, Indiana to the late Tony and Charlotte (Jackson) Ave. Mark graduated from Clinton High School in 1964, and earned a Batchelor’s Degree from Indiana State University. He volunteered for the draft, and served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. Mark worked in sales for 7-Up and Skelgas and married Anita Schepper on August 4, 1972.
Mark and Anita were members of the Staunton United Methodist Church where he served as superintendent. He was also a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and the AmVets Chapter 99. Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching football. His greatest joy came from being with his family, and attending his grandchildren’s events. He was preceded in death by his brother, Stoney Ave.
Mark is survived by his wife Anita Ave of Staunton; daughter, Leslie Schane of Staunton; grandchildren, Kalen and Kelsey Schane; as well as several cousins and other extended family.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Tim Grant officiating and burial to follow at Clearview Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Monday from 4:00-8:00 P.M at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made the V.F.W. Auxiliary or the Staunton United Methodist Church, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
