Mary Margaret (McDaniel) Baskin

Mary Margaret Baskin, 74, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born on February 6, 1948 in Indianapolis to the late Lloyd and Edna (Webb) McDaniel. Mary Margaret attended Plainfield High School and graduated in the class of 1966. She went on to earn her Associate’s Degree. Mary Margaret spent over 20 years working as a bank teller for First Financial Bank in Brazil. In her free time, Mary Margaret enjoyed making scrubbies, sock monkeys, and diaper stackers. While her children were in school, she loved to help out with the marching band at Northview High School, as well as any activities they were involved in, including 4-H. She is described by her family as a excellent baker, gardener, and seamstress. 

Mary Margaret is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her son, Jim (Yvette) Baskin of Brazil; daughters, Hannah Hooten of Brazil, Laura (Donnie) Shoemaker of Roachdale; brothers, Douglas (Paula) McDaniel of Battle Creek, Michigan, Thomas McDaniel of Lynn Haven, Florida; grandchildren, Austin, Landon, Mercedes, Jacob, Johnathan, Julianna; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Addison, Kehnton; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members. 

Moore Funeral Home in Brazil has been entrusted with Mary Margaret’s cremation arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northview Marching Knights; 3150 W State Road 340, Brazil, Indiana 47834.
