Mary Egloff, 87, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was born in Beaumont, Texas on June 8, 1932 the daughter of the late Owen and Judy “Jewell ” (Howard) Holley. Mary graduated from Beaumont High School, attended Kilgore College, and earned her Master’s Degree from Indiana State University. She married Ernest “Ernie” Egloff on March 5, 1954, who passed away in 2011. Mary was an elementary school teacher for many years, educating children at both Bee Ridge and Forest Park schools. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa.
Mary and Ernie were longtime members of the Carbon United Methodist Church. They were very active in children and youth programs and fundraising. They were part of the team that ran a food booth at the Covered Bridge Festival for 27 years to raise funds for the church’s youth activities.
Mary loved spending time with her family, camping, and was very active in scouting, helping produce several films including “Cowboys and Indians” and “Robin Hood”. She also enjoyed her time spent playing with “The Kitchen Band”. Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Howard Holley.

Grandchildren: Benjamin (Amanda) Egloff, Kaylin Egloff, Austin (Kyle) Egloff, Michael Egloff, Johnathan Egloff, Landon Egloff, Thomas (Jennifer) Egloff, Rebecca Egloff

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Jeff Bridgewater officiating and burial to follow at Calcutta Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Friday from 4:00-8:00 P.M., and again on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carbon United Methodist Church.
