Mary Louise (Kumpf) Riddell

Mary Louise Riddell, 99, went to be with her Lord on December 12, 2021 at HutsonWood at Brazil. Mary Lou was born on October 12, 1922 in Clay County, Indiana to the late Leslie and Zola Irene (O’Hair) Kumpf. She graduated from Staunton High School and was a proud sole survivor of the class of 1940. Mary married Robert Riddell on June 17, 1942, and together they raised 6 children. She was a member of the Staunton United Methodist Church for several years. In her free time, Mary enjoyed reading, crocheting, and making doilies, Christmas ornaments, tablecloths, and bedspreads. 

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Riddell; daughter, Deborah Riddell; brothers, Earl Kumpf, Glen Kumpf, Bill Kumpf, Max Kumpf, and John Kumpf. 

Survivors include her daughter, Judy (Steve) Beck; sons, Steve (Zena) Riddell, Sam (Terry) Riddell, Jay (Kelly) Riddell, Dan (Cheryl) Riddell; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaugher. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, December 20, 2021 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil, with Pastor Kerry Clear officiating. The family will accept friends for visitation from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s honor to the Staunton United Methodist Church; 206 W Franklin Street, Staunton, Indiana 47881.
