Melissa Kay “Missy” Hansen, 52, of Brazil, passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2025 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Brazil on September 30, 1972, to the late Robert and Sharon (Wells) Ardell, Jr. Missy graduated from Northview High School with the class of 1992. She worked for several years at Walmart Distribution Center in Greencastle and attended Staunton United Methodist Church.

Missy married Robert Hansen on July 16, 2016, and he survives.

In her younger years, Missy enjoyed hunting and fishing with her father. She loved the outdoors and had an eye for photography. In her free time she had fun crafting t-shirts and tumblers. Missy was the biggest fan of Snoopy! Her selflessness and ability to help others came natural to her, and her memory will be cherished forever.

Missy leaves behind her loving husband, Rob Hansen of Brazil; sons, Kenny Wright of Brazil, Tanner Wright of Spencer, and Logan Wright of Terre Haute; granddaughter, Kimber; sisters, Amanda Medcalf of Brazil and Tamara Cornwell (William) of Elwood; nieces, Kiersten Medcalf and Isabella Medcalf; nephews, Jordan Trumble (Lauren) and Jacob Trumble; along with several extended family members and friends.

Missy is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Sharon Ardell.

In honoring Missy’s wishes, her earthly remains will be cremated. Moore Funeral Home in Brazil has been entrusted with Missy’s cremation arrangements.
