Obituary

Melody Lucas, 44, passed away on July 6, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born in Tucson, Arizona on September 29, 1978. Melody was a hard worker, helping with tree service, landscaping, and bartending as well as several other jobs through the years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grand-babies. When she was’t working or caring for her family she enjoyed fishing, and dancing. Melody was preceded in death by her parents, J.B. Sanders and Shirley Hemmerling; and her brothers, Joey and Billy.

Survivors include her fiancé, Stan Callahan; sons, Richard (Megan Wilson) Lucas and Blaze (Stephanie Wilson) Branson; daughters, Haili (Rafael Ruz) Branson and Sydney (Abraham) Rodriguez; brothers, Robert and Mike; sister, Renda Trammel; as well as 15 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with burial to follow at Bee Ridge Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Friday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
