Melvin G. Williams

Melvin G. Williams, 79, passed away, Sunday, September 15, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 25, 1939 in Reelsville, Indiana to the late Chester and Thelma (Head) Williams. Melvin graduated from Reelsville High School, and went on to marry Rosemary Perkins on May 20, 1967. In 1999, he retired from Olin Brass, previously Bridgeport Brass. Melvin attended Carbon United Methodist Church.

Melvin loved spending time with his family, especially his grand babies. In his free time he enjoyed farming, remodeling houses, and in his younger days he loved to hunt raccoons and squirrels. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Chester, Donald and Thomas Williams, and his sister, Marilyn Joann Wools.

    Son:    Melvin G. (Roberta) Williams, Jr., Reelsville, Indiana

    Daughters:    Billie Jo (Darin) Whitaker, Reelsville, Indiana

            Tina M. (Douglas) Spencer, Greencastle, Indiana

    Grandchildren: Melodie (Rob) Hammer

             Kelsey Whitaker

             Phillip Williams

             Sierra Spencer 

             Levi Whitaker

             Kyle Spencer

    Two Great Grandchildren: Blaze and Ellie Rose Hammer

    Several nieces, nephews, and other extended family

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil, Indiana with Pastor Jeff Bridgewater officiating and burial to follow at Calcutta Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time service.
