Michael DeVylder, 70, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026 at his home in Brazil surrounded by his family. He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on August 6, 1955 to the late Frank and Anna (Webster) DeVylder. Mike graduated from Greencastle High School in 1974, and worked for Rose Hulman Institute of Technology for 23 years. He started as a boiler operator and later in grounds and maintenance.
Mike loved working in his yard and garden, and enjoyed racing, football, and fishing. He loved his family cookouts, and spending time with friends and family. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tom DeVylder, and his sister-in-law, Brenda DeVylder.
Survivors include his significant other, Kara Fry; children, Amy Proctor, Angie (Jeremy) Hanley, Lilliana (Josh) Bary, Michael (Amy) Campo; brother, Rick DeVylder; grandchildren, Morgan Burton, Mason Adams, Bailey Proctor, Saydee Proctor, Codie Proctor, and Carter Hanley; great-grandchildren, Greyson and Kashton Burton; his dog, Cinnamon; as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor John Pierce officiating and burial to follow at Clear Run Cemetery in Bridgeton. The family will accept friends for visitation on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
