Michael Thomas Head, 64, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Brazil, Indiana on Thursday, December 2, 2021. He was born on February 20, 1957 in Brazil to the late Robert and Sharon (Gullifor) Head. Mike attended Van Buren High School, and later married Debra Arnett on September 8, 1978. He was a dedicated employee for the City of Brazil, where he worked for over 35 years. Mike started out driving a trash truck before making his way up to the Commissioner for the City of Brazil. In his free time, Mike enjoyed playing basketball and softball, golfing, bowling, playing euchre, and most importantly spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Mike is preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Head; grandson, Brody Starkey; and brother-n-law, Steve Goodpaster. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Debra Head; daughters, April (Greg) Darrow, Loni (John) Burk; brothers, Robert (Tammy) Head, John (Pam) Head; sister, Lisa Goodpaster; grandchildren, Zane, J.J., Kaydence, Hayley, Elijah, Steve, and Leon; as well as other extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil, Indiana with Pastor David Finch officiating. The family will except friends for visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial at Clearview Cemetery will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the children’s center at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, to honor Mike’s late grandson, Brody Starkey.
