Michael N. Thompson, 47, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022 at his home in Brazil. He was born in Brazil on October 16, 1974 at 4:20 A.M. to Maureen Fortune and the late Michael K. Thompson. Michael became a father in February of 1993 to his son Austin Michael, and again in 1998 to his daughter Kalie Brooke. He graduated with honors from Lincoln Tech in December of 1999, enjoying a wonderful 20 year career as a UAW Skilled Tradesman. Michael earned his second degree from Ivy Tech, achieving his journeyman’s card in machine repair in 2009.
Michael loved the outdoors! Fishing, hunting and riding four wheelers is where you could find him in his free time. He enjoyed mapping out ATV poker runs, and organizing and acting as track Marshall at events such as mud bogs and dirt drags. Every fall you would find him helping out with the Iron Man Races held at Tom’s Marine.
Michael was a wonderful, big hearted man who loved his family and friends. He became a papaw in December of 2013, and from that moment was forever changed. He was preceded in death by his father, and grandparents, Donald and Norma Fortune.
