Mitzie Carol (Dugan) Goodpaster

Mitzie Carol (Dugan) Goodpaster, 62, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at her home surrounded by family.  She was born in Greencastle, Indiana on January 8, 1959 to the late James and Carol (Kelly) Dugan. Mitzie attended Cloverdale High School. She worked as a cook for most of her life, cooking for Holiday Inn, South Putnam High School, and Jack Slope. 

On November 11, 1978, Mitzie married the love of her life, Melvin Goodpaster and together they raised three boys. She enjoyed camping and fishing at Cataract Falls with her family. Mitzie was best known for being a great cook and loved cooking for everyone. 

Mitzie was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Charlie Mosher; and sister, Suzie Burnham.  

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Melvin Goodpaster; sons, Jonah (Kristin) Goodpaster of Seelyville, Joshua Goodpaster of Indianapolis, Jacob (Joseph Ward) Goodpaster of Greenwood; sisters, Donna Teeters of Martinsville, Dixie (John Truax) Dugan of West Palm Beach, FL, Jackie (Frank) Kyle of Fort Myers, FL; grandchildren, Sonora Goodpaster, Johonnah Goodpaster; niece, Angie Bowman of Cape Coral, FL; and many other nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends. 

A private graveside service will be held at Croy’s Creek Cemetery.
