Mona S. Silvers, 80, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Columbia Healthcare in Evansville. She was born in Brazil, Indiana on February 18, 1945 to the late Carl and Hila (Blair) Emmert. Mona graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1963, and worked several places after her children were raised. She was owner and operator of the Bowling Green Hardware & Grocery, worked as a nurses aid and medicine aid, as well as Wal-Mart. Mona was a member of the Maryland Church, she took pride in her 7 mission trips to Louisiana.
Mona loved spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies. In her free time she enjoyed rescuing cats, ceramics, reading, cooking, and working in her gardens.
Survivors include her sons, Kevin (Kathy) Silvers and Drew (Marina) Silvers; daughters, Cindy Bartels and Nancy (Bob) Rukes; grandchildren, Brady (Samantha) Silvers, S.J. (Auriel) Bartels, Alex Bartels, Daniel (Kaylee) Rukes, Brandon (Celina) Rukes, and Isaiah Silvers; great-grandchildren Casen, William, Elliott, Paisley, Bella, and Anna.
A graveside service will be held at a later date. Moore Funeral Home was entrusted with Mona’s cremation arrangements.
