Brazil, Indiana

Phyllis June Lambert, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Cloverleaf Healthcare in Knightsville. She was born in Clay City, Indiana on January 14, 1935 to the late Melvin and Nellie (Lankford) Greenwell. She graduated from Clay City High School and later married Don C. Lambert.

Phyllis was a gifted seamstress, often making her own clothes and gifts for friends and family. She loved to cook and made the best divinity at Christmas time. She was a movie buff, seeing hundreds of movies with her daughter, Phyllis had also traveled most of the United States. She was a member of the Wendy’s Social Club, and the Golden Girls Luncheon Group. After seeing Elvis live in Terre Haute, she became a huge Elvis fan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; brothers, Ulus, Willis, Virgil, Phillip and Laverel Greenwell; and her grandson, Arronn Fields.

Survivors include her daughter, Sherry (Jeff Short) Garlits; sons, William (Jennifer) Fields and Terry Lambert; grandchildren, Anthony (Andrea) Hapenny, Adrienne (Mark) Vradenburg, April (Keith) Fields-Cavanary, and Chris Fields; nine great-grandchildren; special niece, Linda Greenwell Bucklew; as well as other extended family members.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, November 14, 2024 in the Bill Webster Memorial Chapel at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Clay City. The family will accept friends for visitation on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
