Richard Dierdorf Obituary

Richard Earl Dierdorf, 75, passed away on November 10, 2022 at his home in Brazil. He was born on May 11, 1947 in Indianapolis to the late Paul and Josephine (Herron) Dierdorf. Richard graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1965, and married Nona Tindal in 1969. He served in the United States Navy briefly before graduating from Purdue University with a Bachelors Degree in Economics. Richard worked for over 30 years as a labor market analyst for the State of Indiana. In his free time, Richard enjoyed anything car related, traveling, road trips and rescuing horses. He was a member of the Brazil Rotary Club and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was a layman and played bells. 

Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Nona Dierdorf; son, Scott Dierdorf; grandson, Samuel Kern; and sister, Jean Criswell. Survivors include his daughters, Kimberly (Larry) Hawkins, Mary Kern; son, Robert Dierdorf; sisters, Patty (Lou) Villescas, Marian (Dave) Sublette; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family members. 

A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 Noon Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Karen Husby officiating. The family will accept friends for visitation from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will take place at St. John’s Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Richard’s honor to the Brazil Rotary Club or Trinity Lutheran Church in Terre Haute.
