Richard Lee Strain, 78, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. He was born in Putnam County, Indiana on January 21, 1944 to the late Curtiss and Anna (Bayer) Strain. Richard graduated from Reelsville High School in the Class of 1962, and married Francis Kay Kohler on January 15, 1964. He worked at Allison Gas Turbine for 31 years as a pipe fitter.

Richard was known as a prankster, always looking to get a laugh. He enjoyed attending auctions, hunting, fishing, playing cards, but loved attending his grandchildren's extra curricular events. He was preceded in death by his wife, Francis Kay Strain; sisters, Carol Butts, Jean Gates, Doris Dickens; brothers, Gerald Strain, Don Strain; Sister-in-laws, Shirley Cox, Mary Strain, Bertha Mae Pollard; brother-in-laws, Clint McKinney, Eugene Kohler, Jesse Kohler, and John Kohler.

Survivors include his daughter, Carrie Strain of Knightsville; son, Bryan (Elizabeth) Strain of Brazil; sister, Lois McKinney of Brazil; sister-in-laws, Keneen Strain, Toni Kohler; brother-in-laws, George Dickens, Dean Gates, Bob Pollard; grandchildren, Paige Strain, Hunter Strain, Conor (Kristen) Strain; great-grandchildren, Noelle, Meredith, and Rosalie; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, October 31, 2022 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Speck West officiating and burial to follow at Bee Ridge Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Monday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
