Robert Bridgewater

Robert Bridgewater, 81, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Gibson Family Hospice Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Carbon, Indiana on March 22, 1940 to the late John and Hannah (Rogers) Bridgewater. Bob graduated from Van Buren High School in 1958, and retired from Olin Brass. He married Charlotte Walker on November 25, 1982.

In his early years Bob was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying trapping hunting and fishing. He and Charlotte enjoyed traveling to casinos and watching Colts and IU football and basketball together. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte; sister, Patricia Vandeventer; and brother-in-law, Bud Chapman.

Survivors include his sons, John (Diana) Bridgewater, Rob (Charlene) Bridgewater, Chad (Tricia) Bridgewater; daughters, Tammy (Ed) Curley, Cyndi Goerres, Heather (Glenn) Leone; step-son, Lex Barker; step-daughters, Lori (Jerry) Lawson, Cori (Bruce) Kirby and Kim Whitehead; brothers, Larry (Elena) Bridgewater, John (Janet) Bridgewater; sister, Nina Chapman; grandchildren, Dustin (Christine) Bridgewater, Megan (Nick) Jones, Devon Bridgewater, Brayden Heath, Stephanie Hale, Megan Curley, Jeni (Ryan) Stoehr, Jay (Jordyn Wilson-McIntire) Bridgewater, Autumn Rice, Nicole Bridgewater, Mark Bridgewater, Timothy Leone, and Emily Leone; step-grandchildren, Bryant Whitehead, Chelsea (Brian) Thompson, EC (Misty) Moody, Nicole (Christopher) Hernandez; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Jonny, Grayson, Nora, Evelyn, Bella, Hadley, Charlie, and Baylor.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, October 18, 2021 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor Mark Mullenix officiating and burial to follow at Clearview Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clay County Humane Society, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
