Robert Deakins, 95, passed away Monday, October 27, 2025 at his home in Brazil. He was born on September 13, 1930 in Staunton, Indiana to the late David Elmer and Winifred Fay (Davis) Deakins. He graduated from Staunton High School in the class of 1949, and married Barbara Jean Campbell on January 26, 1952. Bob founded Deakins Metal Spinning in 1967, and operated it until his retirement in 1992.

Robert was a man of faith, he enjoyed reading his Bible and talking about Jesus. In his free time he enjoyed bowling, and throwing horseshoes and cornhole. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean; and his siblings, John, Macil, Everett, Jesse, Dorothy, David, and Helen.

Survivors include his children, Michele (Fred) Paris, Mark (Sandra) Deakins, Jeff (Lisa) Deakins, and Brian Deakins; grandchildren, Christina Deakins, Tiffany Venturi, Casey (Jeff) Ladner, Ashley (Ian) Heffner, Ryan (Michelle) Deakins, Preston (Lauren) Deakins; great-grandchildren, Tia Jones, Amaya Jones, Eva Deakins, Dansby Venturi, Paul Deakins, Emry Deakins, Eden Heffner, Holland Heffner, and Daniel Deakins.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Friday at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Dr. Mark Deakins officiating and burial to follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
