Ronald Lee Crowder, 66, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Vermillion County, Indiana on January 17, 1959 to Robert and Mary (Sharer) Crowder. Ron attended Van Burn High School, and retired as a welder for the Millwright Carpenter’s Union Local #1076.

He enjoyed being outdoors whenever possible, usually fishing, or mushroom hunting. Ron was the guy who could fix anything, always able to “McGiver” a solution right or not. He also enjoyed socializing and working out the worlds problems at a local bar. Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Crowder; his brother, Bobby Crowder; and his nephew, Chad Crowder.

Survivors include his father, Bob (Sherry) Crowder; life partner, Marcy Goss-Crowder, sons, Corey (Caitlyn) Crowder and Shaun (Laura) Crowder; daughter, Heather (Jason Swearingen) Crowder; brothers, Danny and Rick Crowder; Sisters, Karen (Jim) Pruitt and Tammy (Darren) Waymire; grandchildren, Cayse, Cabella, and Caidon Crowder; Emily (Andrew) York, Caleb Crowder, Holly (Cord) Watkins, and Aiden Swearingen; great-grandchildren, Cali, Bristol, Briar, and Tinlee; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the Mansfield Village Bar and Grill. He will be laid to rest in a private graveside service at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Moore Funeral Home in Brazil was entrusted with his cremation arrangements.
