Obituary

Rosemary Pounds, 92, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was born on November 7, 1929 in Yorktown, Indiana to the late Richard and Alice (Baker) Bemis. Rosemary attended Prairie Creek Schools, and later married Charles R. Pounds in May of 1947. She was an avid 4-H leader when her children were young. Rosemary was also a homemaker and caretaker. She enjoyed caring for her flower garden, cats, dogs, and feeding the birds. Rosemary also loved watching the NFL. 

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles R. Pounds; daughter, Charla Pounds; brothers, Ralph Bemis, Dick Bemis; and sister, Linda Holston. Survivors include her sons, Charles (Shirley) Pounds, Jr. of Terre Haute, Patrick (Laura) Pounds of Terre Haute, Kevin Pounds of Terre Haute; daughter, Melissa Correl of West Terre Haute; grandchildren, Melinda VaNess, Jeremy Pounds, Sarah Pounds, Jonathon (Joni) Pounds, TaPring Goate, Tess Goate, Chauncey Goate; and 6 great-grandchildren. 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Clearview Cemetery with Pastor Mark Grayless officiating. The family will accept friends from 1:30 P.M. until the time of service.
