Roy Lee Jones, Jr., 73, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. Roy was born on March 11, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Roy Lee and Marilyn Mary (Sorenson) Jones, Sr. He graduated from Argo Community High School in 1967, and later earned his pre-law certificate from Southeastern Illinois College. Roy married Shirley Rocco on November 26, 1999. He worked for Great Dane before opening S&R Auto, specializing in auto body repair. In his free time, Roy loved riding his Harley and watching Yellowstone.

Roy is preceded in death by his brother, James Jones. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Jones of Carbon; sons, Shawn (Ella) Jones of Westmont, Illinois, Rick (Mary) Rocco of Palos Heights, Illinois; daughters, Christy (Ryan) Cyz of Frankfort, Illinois, Michelle (Bruce) Burken of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Kiya Martin of Countryside, Illinois; brothers, Roger Jones of Canton, Georgia, Jeffrey (Melissa) Jones of Canton, Georgia; sisters, Linda Morrison of Brazil, Gale Amos of Canton, Georgia, Mary (Bill) Fulton of Canton, Georgia, Staci (Mike) Chastain of Canton, Georgia; and 8 grandchildren.

Moore Funeral Home in Brazil has been entrusted with Roy’s cremation arrangements.
