Ruth Corbin Obituary

Ruth Ann Corbin, 93, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on March 7, 1930 to the late Frank and Hanora (Roach) Smith. Ruth was a homemaker, who told wonderful stories of her childhood, including cutting through blacksmiths, swinging on ropes, and “jitterbugging” at the young mens club. She was an avid reader, and loved attending family BBQ’s, and spending time with her granchildren. Later in life she enjoyed bowling, carrying over a 200 pin average, as well as playing Yahtzee with Peg Kelley. Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter, Ronda Allsup; brothers, Buddy, Tom and Shannon Smith; Sisters, Irene Smith and Mary Lacey.

Survivors include her son, Robert Corbin; daughter, Rae Haraway; sisters Helen Ranson and Dorothy Miller; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren, ten great-great grandchildren.

A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at a later date. Moore Funeral Home in Brazil was entrusted with her cremation arrangements.
