Ruth E. Moss, 97, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024 at her home. She was born on November 27, 1926, the sixth out of eight children to the late Edward and Mabel (Reichert) Herr. Ruth graduated from Ball Township School, and attended Nursing School at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. She married Dr. Harlan Moss on August 14, 1949, together they operated a medical practice before she retired in 1994 after 30 years of caring for others.

In her free time she enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading, camping, and doing crafts especially embroidery, knitting, and sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Patrick Moss; brothers, Charles, Lee, Harold and Fred Herr; sisters, Margaret Herr, Dorothy Cinotto and Betty Cheek.

She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Lois Moss of Center Point, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 26, 2024 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with burial to follow at Ashboro Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service on Monday.
