Ryan G. Collins, 61, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, January 31, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He had courageously fought Multiple Myeloma for almost 14 years.
Ryan, son of Ferrel and Marybelle Collins, was born on March 24, 1956. He married Lois Phillips on August 15, 1975 and celebrated their 42nd anniversary with a trip to Niagra Falls last summer.
Ryan was a hardworking farmer who was known for his strong preference to red equipment on his farm, a skilled woodworker, and could fix almost everything. He enjoyed taking trips with his wife and friends on his motorcycle and competing in truck and tractor pulls. He was lovingly known as “Pappy” by his 6 grandchildren who he treasured and with his dear friends he was also known to be quite a prankster.
Ryan and Lois have attended Heritage Baptist Church faithfully for the past 15 years. He was preceded in death by his mother Marybelle and his brother Redgie. He is survived by his wife Lois, his daughter Brandy and son-in-law Thomas Hyatt, and his son Adam and daughter-in-law Cameron Collins, and his grandchildren: Wil, Harper, and Emy Lu Hyatt and Addi, Avery, and Abraham Collins. Ryan leaves behind many fun memories with his closest friends, Darrell and Annette Royer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Miles for Myeloma Fund or Gideon’s International. Envelopes will be available at the church.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Heritage Baptist Church in Clay City with Pastor Steven Tyra officiating. The family will accept friends for visitation at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
