On November 16, 2023, Stephen Ross Brannan, 37, left this world and is now at home with the Lord. He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on September 3, 1986, to Donald and Debra (Haddon) Brannan. Stephen graduated from Northview High School in 2005, earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 2009, where he was member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He was a firearms instructor and owner/operator of ProTEQ Custom Gear. He formed the Forward Operating Church in 2018 teaching churches how to provide secure services. In addition to his holster business, Stephen worked at Knights Armament Company and FN USA, as well as operating and hosting multiple shooting matches for ProTEQ Range and Academy. He was a member of Dick Johnson Volunteer Fire Department for about 20 years, created the Armored Up Men’s Christian Group, and served on many Emmaus Walks.
Stephen loved the Lord with all his might, and spreading His love to others was his passion. His greatest joy in life was being a daddy to his princess, Madi, and to his little buddy, Max. He was wholeheartedly a devoted father, husband, and a man of God who gave hugs freely and would often ask, “Has anyone told you they loved you today?” He has many brothers and sisters in faith, and never met a stranger.
Survivors include his wife, Courtney Brannan; children Madilyn and Maximus Brannan, as well as Kimberly and Galen Cessor, whom he loved and thought of as his own; parents, Donald and Debra Brannan; father and mother-in-law, Willis and Vickie Weddell; the mother of his children, Sarah Brannan, and her parents, Russell and Tina Crosby; sister Amber (Robert Sullivan) Brannan Orman; as well as aunts and uncles, Mark and Suzanne Weffler, John and Terri Haddon, Jim and Karen Brannan, and Mary Ann Brannan.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39
A celebration of life for Stephen will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Bee Ridge Church in Brazil. The family will accept friends for visitation on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.
