Teddy Joe Sampson, Sr., passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 15, 2026 at his home in Brazil. He was born in Brazil, Indiana on September 29, 1944 to the late John and Kathryn (Brown) Sampson. He attended Brazil High School and married Linda Alspaugh on May 11, 1963. Ted worked as a miner for Brazil Coal and Clay, and as a lumberjack for Pike Lumber Company, after retirement he drove trucks for Bell Farms.
Ted loved staying busy, he could usually be found tinkering on something in the garage. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda.
Survivors include his sons, Ted (Sonya) Sampson, Jr., Mark (Teresa) Sampson, and Mike (Lisa) Sampson; brothers, Robert (Nancy) Sampson, Larry (Sharon) Sampson, Jim (Tonya) Sampson, and Johnny Sampson; sister, Sue (Chet) Stevenson; grandchildren, Chelsey (Joe) Burk, Jason (Ashlyn) Sampson, Megan (Brandon Bowman) Garrison, Tyler Sampson, Logan Sampson, Brooke Sampson, Gavin Morgan, Cameron (Jeff) Wheeler, Tierra Stone, Whitney (Ricky) Sampson, Justin (Jasmine) Sampson, Kruz (Chloe) Sampson, Ashton (Camilo) Clark, and Laken (Matt) Wood; as well as 27 great-grandchildren.
Ted’s family will accept friends for visitation on Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil.
