Brazil, Indiana

Virginia Rose Elder, 97, passed away Sunday August 16, 2020 after a brief hospital visit in Indianapolis. She was born on. June 21, 1923 in Clay County, to the late Pearl and Rella (Hardy) Wallace. Rose graduated from Staunton High School and later married Joseph Elder.

She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, knitting and sewing, making most all of her clothes. Rose was a great pie baker, and always had a joke or prank to play on you. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; and sisters, Thelma Wallace and Nellie Wools.

Virginia is survived by her nieces and nephews, Jean Garrigus, Charles (Alice) Wools,

John (Linda) Elder, Beverly (Larry) Hill, Charlotte (Gene) Weaver; as well as several great nieces and nephews and other extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 21, 2020 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with burial to follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery. The family will accept friends for visitation on Friday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
