Wilma Lucille Morlan, 95, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Cloverleaf Healthcare in Knightsville. She was born on October 9, 1925 in Bowling Green, Indiana to the late Carl and Florence (Greenwood) Halfhill. Wilma graduated from Bowling Green High School, and later married Roy E. Morlan. Together they raised a family and ran a farm in Reelsville, she was always Roy’s right hand.
She loved growing flowers and vegetables, keeping a garden until she was 85 years old. Wilma also enjoyed quilting, sewing, and spending the winters in Louisiana. She will be remembered as a beautiful, persistent, resourceful woman, as well as always putting others ahead of herself. Wilma is preceded in death by her late husband Roy; brothers, Max, Gene, Ovid "Dub" and Byron Halfhill; and her sister Berle Ruth Morand.
Mrs. Morlan is survived by her daughters, Diane (Jim) Thorton of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Shirley Evans of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Cheryl Steuerwald of Brazil; brother, Clyde Halfhill of Brazil; sisters, Linda Schiele of Bowling Green and Carlene (Eddie) Dickison of Brazil; grandchildren, Chip Hunt, Brian Steuerwald, Jeremy Evans and Jessica Merrick; great-grandchildren, Austin Hunt, Stormy Evans, Evan Merrick and Natalie Merrick; and great-great grandchildren, Ace, Trebble and Willow.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Croys Creek Cemetery with Pastor Richard Hull officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Missionary Church (21 West Pinkley St. Brazil, Indiana 47834).
