Winton Thann Kelly, 72, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at his home in Brazil. He was born on January 16, 1950 in Clay County to the late Weldon and Hazel (Young) Kelly. Winton graduated from Van Buren High School. He married Carletta McDonough on October 14, 1972. Winton spent many years as a welder, and eventually opened his own business building fences: Kelly & Son’s Fence Building. In his free time, Winton enjoyed being outdoors. He especially loved working and breaking horses, as well as working his mules in the garden. Winton also enjoyed taking his children and the neighborhood children on wagon rides, watching Westerns, and learning about United States history. 

Winton is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Carletta Kelly of Brazil; son, Clint M. Kelly of Brazil; and daughter, Lacy A. Kelly Ramos and husband, Francisco Ramos of Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 1, 2022 at Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with Pastor John Pierce officiating. The family will accept friends for visitation from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Croys Creek Cemetery in Reelsville.
