Christopher William Swearingen, 24, passed away Saturday June 24, 2017. He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on July 24, 1992 the son of Richard Alan Swearingen, Jr. and Victoria Freeman. Chris graduated from Northview High School where he enjoyed playing music with the Marching Knights. He was a member of Terre Haute First Baptist Church.

Christopher enjoyed spending time with his daughter Amanda Swearingen, boating and playing in the park. He also enjoyed teaching her the love of music.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Susan Sneddon; great-grandpa Reverend Edward Randall; aunt, Julie McLaughlin; grandpa, Richard Swearingen, Sr. and sister, Michaela Snyder.

He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Swearingen, and her mother Brenda Swearingen; his fiancé, Margaret Blackburn; father, Richard (Deanna) Swearingen; previous step-mother, Sherri (Peter Lapoint) Swearingen; great-grandma, Barbara Randall; grandma, Cathy Swearingen; grandpa, T.J. Sneddon; sibilings, Ashley Swearingen, Richard Ashton Swearingen, Tamera (Matt) Proctor, David (Bethany) Swearingen, Cody Swearingen, Auston Kallansa, Bryce Barnett, Lillie Coleman. Christopher was an uncle to several nieces and nephews. He was a loved nephew, brother, son, and friend.

A celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 P.M. Friday, June 30, 2017 at Union Christian Church (5350 East Hulman Drive, Terre Haute, Indiana 47803) with Pastor Todd Payton officiating. The family will accept friends on Friday from 3:00 P.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Amanda Nicole Swearingen Life Trust in care of Marci Rush at the Riddell National Bank.
